England vs New Zealand, 1st Test, Day 2 Live Score Updates: Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell hit half-centuries to steady New Zealand after Stuart Broad got Devon Conway’s wicket for the second time in the match to leave New Zealand in trouble at 56/4. The two have put on a partnership of more than 100 to take New Zealand’s lead over 100. Earlier, Matthew Potts struck twice shortly after New Zealand wiped out England’s slender first-innings lead, as he sent Kane Williamson and Tom Latham packing. New Zealand were languishing at 38 for three at Lunch on Day 2. James Anderson had earlier dismissed Will Young for the second time as New Zealand lost an early wicket in their second innings of the ongoing first Test at Lord’s. Earlier, England took a narrow 9-run lead as they were bowled out for 141 on Day 2. Resuming play from their overnight score of 116 for seven, England lost the wicket of Stuart Broad early in the morning session as his leg stump was taken for a ride by Tim Southee. Foakes was also given his marching orders by Southee, with Daryl Mitchell taking a sharp catch at first slip. Trent Boult then landed the final blow, dismissing concussion substitute Matthew Parkinson. On Day 1, England had bundled out New Zealand for 132 with James Anderson and Matthew Potts taking two wickets each. England then showed some resistance with the bat and they were 92/2 in the 29th over. However, England lost five wickets in a jiffy and the side were reduced to 100/7. Initially, the visitors won the toss and elected to bat at the ‘Mecca of cricket’. (LIVE SCORECARD)
