England vs New Zealand, 1st Test, Day 3 Live Score Updates: Joe Root reached his half-century not long after Kyle Jamieson bagged his fourth wicket as Ben Stokes fell for 54 on Day 3 of the first Test between England and New Zealand at Lord’s. Stokes and Joe Root had steadied the hosts with a 90-run partnership before Jamieson’s strike. England are five wickets down in their chase of 277. Kyle Jamieson gave New Zealand the first breakthrough in the form of Alex Lees just before Lunch, and followed it up with the wicket of his opening partner Zak Crawley. Trent Boult then dismissed Ollie Pope, whose struggles at No.3 continued. Jonny Bairstow looked to shift momentum with a counter-attacking cameo, but his knock was also brought to an early end by the lanky Jamieson. Earlier, Stuart Broad and James Anderson led England’s revival on Day 3 as the hosts bowled out New Zealand for 285 in the second innings. England need 277 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series. Broad struck twice in a three-wicket over, which also included a run out, while Anderson also landed a crucial blow as the Kiwis lost four wickets in a flurry in the morning session. Daryl Mitchell had earlier scored his second Test century after light drizzled had delayed the start of proceedings on Day 3. (LIVE SCORECARD)
