Patidar and Kohli had added 66 runs for the second wicket after Faf was dismissed in the first over. Earlier, LSG had won the toss and elected to bowl. Rain had earlier delayed the the toss and the entire ground had been covered due to slight drizzle. This is a do-or-die game for both the teams as a defeat would end their respective campaigns. LSG have heavily relied on their top-three, but have found a way out of tough spots because of their exceptional bowling attack. Meanwhile, all eyes will be on Virat Kohli, who smashed a brilliant 73 in RCB’s last group game against Gujarat Titans, putting an end to his poor form in the IPL.
