Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposes to open UNESCO Institute for coordination of actions in field of education in Tashkent

The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed with a welcoming speech to the delegates of the World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education which is being held these days in Tashkent. The leadership of UNESCO, representatives of international organizations as well as over 70 sector ministers from various countries attended the session with the Head of the State. The global forum brought together around 150 countries of the world in total.

“The number of educators and teachers has also increased threefold and reached 160, 000. Furthermore, practical work has been undertaken to improve the qualifications of more than 160,000 pedagogic personnel. This, in turn, provided an opportunity to increase the number of children receiving education and training in kindergartens from 600 thousand to 2 million, and the rate of children’s coverage increased to 70%”, – noted Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Concluding his speech the President of Uzbekistan emphasized the extreme importance of the conference and Tashkent Declaration to be approved as its follow-up along with Obligations on Transforming Early Childhood Care and Education. Considering the above the Head of the State proposed to establish UNESCO  Category II Institute for coordination of actions in the field of education in Tashkent, promising to render comprehensive assistance from the Republic’s leadership.
