It is the process that involves identifying, sourcing, screening, shortlisting, and interviewing the applicants for the required job. This is usually done by an organization. When any organization needs any employ, they create a job position and recruit candidate to fill that vacancy. It is a process of hiring talented candidates for filling up the vacant jobs within an organization.

Human Resource Management or HRM department is most crucial part of any organization. It is concerned with the management of the people working within that organization. These employees are considered to be the biggest asset of the organization. The main job of HR department is to build a strong potential of Human Capital for the organization. This would help them to choose the right candidate, in right time for right place, which is considered as the art of recruitment. The main purpose of recruitment is to gather all the necessary information about the candidate so that the best among them can be selected for the required job.

Components of recruitment

Although it is a continuous process with long procedures, it is mainly subdivided into 3 phases for the sake simplifying the process. These phases are described below

  • Preparation of outlines for desired job

First thing first, the HRM department outlines the necessary criteria required for the job. They identify all the required skills and competencies that the organization wants in their ideal candidate. They make a frame containing the eligibility criteria. Afterwards, they select a platform for channeling their need. They identify a proper communication way through which they convey their requirements to the desired candidates

  • Application process

Once the organization has advertised their job position through all the internal and external sources, the process of receiving the applications from the applicants starts. The interested candidates send the organization, their responses. Most organizations send confirmatory emails to the candidates to ensure that that their applications have been received and are being viewed. Now-a-days, many organizations are using Application Tracking System ATS. This software not only helps them in audio selection of the candidates depending upon the given requirements but also auto replies them. Hence, in n this way it lessens the burden for organization.

  • Selection

This phase is divided in further 4 stages

Stag-1

The actual selection process starts here. First of all, candidates unfit for the job are canceled out by HRM department. Every organization has different criteria for selection

Stag-2

This stage organizes those who are fit for the job. These are listed according to their on paper work and qualification.

Stag-3

The high ranked candidates are called for an interview. These interviews are conducted to verify the data, personal behaviors and general personality of the applicant.

Stag-4

This is the last stage for selection. In this stage, the candidate is given a task that is related to the job position. This checks the abilities of the candidate.

  • Joining

Finally 2-3 candidates are hired depending upon their abilities. After the joining formalities, the candidate become employ for the organization.
